My Approach

Welcome! I am honoured and delighted to collaborate with and support you on this path of healing and wellness. Clients describe me as nurturing, creative and optimistic. Therapeutic work means being able to adapt to your clients needs and knowing there’s no such thing as one-size-fits-all. I respect your goals and time - this is your life!

My journey as a therapist started in Ottawa where I’ve specialized in trauma therapy with children, youth and adults from various backgrounds. Trauma’s causes and effects are complex! It can reach into many areas of our lives: school, family, experiences of loss, anxiety, depression, work, abuse, relationships, substance use and suicidal ideation. Because it’s complex, I understand the importance of getting to know you and making a plan together. Modalities I use within practice will depend on the client's unique needs and desires.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Strengths-Based approaches are the most commonly used; however, I also draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy and Art Therapy.

Outside of this wonderful work, I love life at home with my two cats. I also enjoy being creative through drawing, painting and making crafts. Art truly feeds the soul and has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I love to spend my free time surrounded by family and friends. When the weather is right, we go on road trips and camping adventures together. Of course, we fill nature’s peace with lots of laughter!
